WHY I CHOSE MEDIATION
As a dispute resolution solicitor, I naturally fell into experiencing different forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including mediation. It is in my view, one of the more successful forms of ADR that clients engage in.
When acting as a representative for parties at mediation, I quickly realised that mediation works. Even in those cases where a settlement is not reached, it allows parties to narrow down issues in dispute, improve communication, be flexible and creative when coming up with a solution. All of this means there is better control of the outcome and little to no uncertainty.
I chose to qualify as a mediator because I want to use my skills and be involved in mediation success stories. I want to be the person that helps the parties find common ground between one another. Given my background as a solicitor, and the legal knowledge that comes with it, I am in the best possible position to combine the two and gain a deeper understanding of the issues in dispute.
